Face of Boe v2
I spent last night and most of the day today giving my recreation of Murray Gold's Face of Boe music a much-needed overhaul. (Actually, I ended up starting the whole thing completely from scratch, as I frequently do with "updates.") I've now done the complete piece, as heard on the soundtrack, instead of just the start as before. This version is also lacking the synth bends that are heard in the soundtrack version -- this is for two reasons. For one, I tried to get them but wasn't happy with how they sounded. For another (this is my cop-out reason), I actually checked the original music on "New Earth" and there aren't any bends in there like the ones heard on the soundtrack. So if anyone asks, it's the episode version.
Anyway, here is the file. Comments would be appreciated!

Nice work Danny. Bit too much velocity across the whole piece but it still sounds great.
Piano = Bassy, lol
Edit: Forget the velocity aspect - WinAmp was at a BGM volume level (15%) whilst....WMP?.....WMP was at max volume.....hmmm....why did it load WMP? I didn't realise WinAmp was so low when I was listening to it so my headphones were turned up.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.

Murray's original piano is kind of crazy in the original so I tried to match that through velocities and equalization.

That is an absolutely beautiful piece of music, you've done it so well, me and my Nanna loved it!

*sigh*
It's been brought to my attention that the episode version does in fact have the synth bends. I simply didn't hear them. It also has this ridiculously funky male choir almost chanting through the last part of it.
Hearing things like that makes me wonder how long it takes Murray Gold to write just one minute of poignant incidental music for Doctor Who. I could never see myself being able to come up with something like this even in as little time as a day.
Still, I may go back in and add more, but likely not until I get back home (I'm already pushing my laptop to the limit as it is, I dare not add any more to the load).

Good to see that Danny is keeping up his tradition of doing 10,000,000 versions per remix

Come now, let's be reasonable. I don't to 10,000,000. More like 10,000.

The price I pay for being a perfectionist. Murray Gold told me I might make a good producer, being the perfectionist that I am.
