Whats the link for comic life, perhaps if i can download it I could give it a personal test. because i've never heard of it untill now

As for credits, i guess it depends hwo we go about things, i've done a few plots, we have someone on animation, it's just the humor side of things now who we need someone to chip in: Over to you RV

I have a similar, if not identical, program that came with my drawing tablet. There's no point using Comic Life. The time it saves is negligible if we want full creative control of the production of the comic. Areas of your image that leave the comic frames, interwoven frames, inter frame action etc. are likely not possible in Comic Life, and would have to be done manually and eventually somehow mixed into your pointless proprietary program.

Only someone who has no idea what they're doing would want to use the creative equivalent of a just-add water solution.

Whatever. I like Comic Life. It's good enough for me, I don't need any more control than it offers, and I frankly would not be bothered to make comics using anything else as it would take too much time and effort. If you want me to make a comic, I would only do so using Comic Life. If you want someone else to do it, they can use whatever the hell they want.

If it's a DSF comic then anyone in the DSF should be able to contribute. And since we've not all been integrated into the Cult of Jobs, using a proprietary just-add-water program is silly.

It's by no means proprietary. Nor is it just-add-water. I wish you'd stop insulting something you've never used. It's quite versatile and I have not yet fully figured out how to use everything it offers.

Also, after visiting the company's web site, apparently they make a Windows version as well.

RV is sure Apple and all its fans brainwash helpless consumers, Danny defends it with his life. Oh yes, it's an age old battle. There's also GIMP, which is entirely free, open source, and can do almost anything Photoshop can do. The UI is different, but the features match up. It can work on Macs, Windows, AND Linux.

I've used the GIMP quite a bit in the past, sort of hoping I could use it to replace Photoshop. Unfortunately, it isn't really that good in comparison. I'm sure that will be rectified over time though, they're planning some overhauls, including the UI, that might turn it into a real contender (I'm hoping so). For now though (or at least, a few months ago when I used it last), it's pretty sucky.

Although, it can read PSD files, so it might be good for those who don't want to appropriate Photoshop while those of us who do use Photoshop can and we can still swap files.

I will be the first to admit that the GIMP is not a full-fledged Photoshop replacement. Far from it, in fact. It's great to have, especially, as RV says, if you don't want to "appropriate" Photoshop, but it really doesn't measure up in almost any key area.
