Have you seen the difference between DX10 and DX9 on highest settings? Here's a hint: There isn't one.
Plus it artificially elevates the system requirements so that what was once a top-of-the line gaming machine is now a upper-mid-range machine. Not good.
So far, the most useful feature of DX10 has been the particle smoothing. And even that's been done in DX9 (CoD4).
Stick with XP kids.

By what measure? I can't say I've ever heard of a false fact...

Let me know when you yourself actually see a comparison.

I was reading about it in the Guardian today. With Crysis on Windows XP Crytek disabled the highest settings on DX9 but with a bit of jiggery-pokery with the config files you can run it on highest settings (presumably this was "impossible"; in practice it seems about as possible as the impossible Portal level) and they reportedly look exactly the same as the highest DX10 settings.

The Guardian isn't really posh (I suppose it is posh in comparison to The Sun or The Mirror or Chat Magazine ) I'd say something like the Daily Mail is for posh people (but stupid posh people who need to hear about immigration and Princess Diana every five seconds). The Guardian is more kinda arty. They always have cult Russian film posters and things, and, of course, they have Charlie Brooker doing a column in the G2 every Monday.

I think you'll find the Express is the paper that never shuts up about Diana. The mail is just opinionated and biased.

Google 'Crysis DX10 DX9 comparison'. You'll find hundreds. Just makes sure they've used the lockout workaround.
EDIT: Here, I'll save you the trouble: http://au.gamespot.com/features/6182140/index.html

It came from you being like "Vista is cool because of DX10." Microsoft has taken a horrible OS and added a nice DX10 icing which has sapped people like you into using or even (heaven forbid) wanting it.

I read that Crysis might be coming out on the Xbox360 and PS3 (please dont kill me RV) as the developers have got it to run on both machines. Sorry for off topicness but has anybody heard anything about this.

Nonetheless, you did a pretty good imitation of someone who did.

Given the amount of stuff which floated about regarding Halo 2 for the PC or Oblivion for the PS3 I would not be surprised if Crysis was redone for the Xbox306, remember that Crytek have two sequels lined up for Crysis anyway and of course the Xbox and windows are done by the same company. I remember Oblivion almost got me to buy a 360 until i released i just needed to improve my graphics card, which i did as some of you remember how i acted during that situation a year ago. Crysis may yet tempt me. The Xbox is still the best console on the market.
