Dead Male One

I've not written a lot of poetry in my lifetime, it's never been something I've been that 'in' to. However I had an idea last night and I knocked this piece of tat together. I hope you all like it.

Dead Male One.

By gravestones, those with weak emotions weep,
From their eyes soft tears protrude and seep,
The rev’rand reads from holy book a prayer,
The loved ones, they just stand around and stare.

In Field shrouded in mud, tree and leaf,
There lies a stone and one dishevelled wreath,
Engraved in stone the name “Dead Male One”,
Unnamed man who’s only friend is the sun.

Killed, killed was he, the man without a face,
A victim in this fearful murder case,
And who was he and what did he, and why?
This man without a face was left to die.

This man, no hands he touched in his grim life,
And yet he fell to madman with a knife.
Who was this man, what did he do, and why?
What crossed his mind when sudden death was nigh?

Identified? Who by? He had no friends,
And nothing did his unknown death portend,
For in the background, ‘Dead Male One’ would blend,
His funeral? Who knew him, who attends?

No one. In his granted world, he hadn’t a friend.

Dead Male One? His name escapes my mind
Dead Male One? Why should I care he died?
Dead Male One? I did not know his name.
Stabbed? My word, just who did he defame?

Who made me be another lifeless corpse?
A madman with a knife whose mind was warped?
If only coppers knew more of my life.
Then they would know it was my secret wife.

well, seeing as the last one was so um.. well received... here's my latest effort, this one is for all those out there who get pissed off at people saying "why do you sit on the computer? you're a loser, you should go out in to the sun". It goes like this--

The sun has always been a vital part
of frolics for the children we have bred.
But why must it upset the applecart
when I decide to stay indoors instead?

I'd rather watch a nice long DVD,
or slouch around and play computer games.
I'll let the sunshine be what it will be,
the sun will live, it need not know my name.

It burns my skin and makes me foul and sick,
it makes me tired and want to fall asleep.
To sunbathe in a thong would bore me stiff,
The thought of craving tans would make me weep.

From my TV I get a gripping plot,
But from the sun? My head will burn and ache.
Are balls of flame a drama? I think not!
It's always looked the same for heaven's sake!

Why can't one be a quiet introvert,
who keeps his head down much to no dismay?
Why should one be a noisy extrovert
who causes fights and drinks throughout the day?

I've sev'ral friends, some on the internet,
and some I chat to socially in school,
but socialising outdoors makes me fret,
not least because a lot of them are fools.

One sees outside when sitting in one's house,
why does one need to feel it on one too?
What's wrong with sitting quiet as a mouse,
Whilst doing things they'd much prefer to do?

Don't get me wrong, the sun does have its charm,
I know the sun can fill one's soul with glee.
But don't forget us 'nerds', we cause no harm,
Now bugger off, I want to watch TV.

Due to Danny's review I actually read it too and it's sort of good but makes me think you need to get some new friends.
