Hey Everyone

I'm posting this from a dinky little 2003 laptop I dug out of my roommates closet.

Long story short, I was in a pretty bad car accident and my computer also burnt out. I should have a new computer in a few days.. but this is really the first chance I've had to get word out to people, so I leaped on the chance.

If you want the longer story..

I was on and off the interwebs a lot after moving to Reno around November, had a few rough spots. My room mate, a good friend of mine, was and still suffers from a type of depression that I try to help him with, including having to do a lot around the place. He had a breakdown that was very tough, his family had to fly up, he was in the hospital for awhile.. etc.

Then after all that settled down, both of us were in a car accident. We were driving to Las Vegas (to see his parents), I took a turn at the wheel.. and we were blindsided by a drunk driver in a pickup. I took the brunt of the damage, ended up with blood in my lungs, cracked ribs and other fun injuries. As you can tell, I'm alive, it just took me more than awhile to recover.. during that time I had no cell phone (lost in the crash) and no real way to communicate, outside my friend and his family.

One week before I was released, I was informed by friends and my roomate that my computer of 5 years had finally kicked it and burned out. I came back to the aprtment over christmas.. we dug out this old laptop nd just got it working. Thankfully, I should be getting a new computer in a day or two that'll be much, much better than my older one.. and can resume being a part of this community/forums/etc.

I feel rather horrible for vanishing, even if there were goodreasons for it.. so if Danny or people don't want me as an Admin anymore, or things like that, I'll understand. It feels reliving just to be able to finally explain what the hell happened to me.

My God you've had a rough time. I'm glad to hear things seem to be getting better!

I certainly think you should still be admin. You couldn't help what happened and it sounds like even when you weren't helping round here, you were at home, and your putting a very brave face on your accident!

It was rather scary. Being in a hospital bed,surrounded by strangers and not having a way to contact people.. or do, anything.. it's a paralyzing one. I'm just happy to be out now.
