What addons do you recommend for Firefox then?

Download statusbar - Puts little download progress meters in a bar at the bottom.

Faviconize tabs - Lets you double-click your tabs to make them just the favicon (that little icon on the left.) Useful when you use this;

Permatabs* - Lets you create tabs that never close, useful for sites you visit often. Using the faviconize addon they're unobtrusive.

Gmail manager* - If you have a few gmail accounts (like I do), then this lets you keep tabs on them and go between them quickly and easily.

* Doesn't work in Firefox 3 yet.

Then there's the middle click scroll (which you might not know about but I find very useful.) Click in the middle mouse button and you can scroll slowly or quickly down the page without having to keep moving the scroll wheel, which is very useful when reading long articles or wanting to get from the top to the bottom or visa versa quickly.

Take a gander for yourself, there's an addon for pretty much everything; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Yeah, but there's not a "make Firefox fast and awesome like Safari" addon.

Safari would be more at home on my Laptop when I take it back to Uni. But I have downloaded it for here too and I am really really impressed with what I have seen from it so far. I have kept Firefox around to try out a few addons as well.

Gecko is the rendering engine that Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, etc. all use. WebKit is the engine that Safari (as well as Konqueror and a few other Linux-based browsers) uses. WebKit is substantially faster and moderately more standards-compliant than Gecko.

But not quite as secure, it would seem.

Yeah, I saw that. Not really an indication of comparative security, though, because Firefox wasn't allowed to be tested there. Only stock software installed on each machine. Also, it's really down to the browser to deal with security, not the engine. Don't blame WebKit for Apple's problems.

Uh oh a paradox. You can't admit Apple did anything wrong Danny, better retcon it before too many people see it.

I'm not worried about it. Apple will fix it in the next couple of days.
