I never said that I knew anything about the work that went into making the Doctor Who theme. I just said that between the end result of that and the themes John Williams creates, I like JW better. That's all.

You just did rehash it. And you have strange musical perceptions if that tune doesn't impress you the first time you hear it. It's just an amazing piece.

And all I'm saying is that I can't understand why, but that's my opinion. You have yours and I have mine. I downloaded the Star Wars theme and listened to it just because of this thread, and my opinion of it lessened slightly. It can't stay on a platform as high as the Doctor Who theme in terms of final product or in work involved.

Also, check this out. Does the Star Wars theme have a similar site? Even if so, how many entries does it have? As you can hopefully see by now, the Doctor Who theme has created a much bigger impression on the music world, or at the very least, its electronic subcomponent.

And I'm sure there are a lot of sites for that music because that music is very popular with the internet community, that still doesnt mean I like it more than I like John Williams, who also has sites dedicated to him and his creations.

I wanted one site like that with remixes of the Star Wars main title theme, that's all. No "well, there are lots of sites around here and there..." excuses. Every piece of music on the site I linked to is directly based on the Doctor Who main title theme. I want a similar site with anywhere near as many entries devoted only to the Star Wars main title theme and remixes or recreations thereof.

There must be some about, with the scale of Star Wars n the internet community, there must be a few about. Maybe they are quite small sites. but a few should exist. Like David said, thee are sites, it is just a case of finding them and listening to what is on there I guess. Does anyone know where to find such a site?

There are tons of remixes and covers of Williams' themes. And I want to point out that while he is most known for the SW theme, he has done dozens of excellent themes for movies. What else has Delia Derbyshire done?

Note: I'm not implying that there is nothing else, I'm just curious.

Many, many pieces of electronic music, for the BBC and otherwise. I don't expect you to actually read this, but a lot of her work is covered here. You might want to just skim it -- she's done a lot.

EDIT: To make things easier, you can use your browser's Find feature to skim the page for references to "Delia," as that's how she's most commonly referred to on that site. As I said, you'll see quite a bit. (The person on the site seems to be, well, not the biggest Doctor Who fan. But it's still a good reference for Delia's work.

EDIT #2: If you are interested in Delia Derbyshire, you may visit her web site here. DO NOT click the link at the bottom of the page I linked to above -- that leads to DeliaDerbyshire.org, without a hyphen between. The domain name for that site expired, and was renewed by some unspeakably despicable lowlife who replaced it with a rape pornography site. Absolutely disgusting; like spitting on Delia Derbyshire's grave. I just wanted to note that in case you were tempted to click the link.

MIDIs don't count, Max, sorry. There are loads of Doctor Who MIDIs out there too, but I don't count those. I'm only counting the ones on Whomix, and I expect a similar site or set of remixes. Please try again. (Besides, that's only ten files -- my brother alone has done more Doctor Who MIDIs than that, and Whomix has over 150 actual MP3 mixes.)

EDIT: Doctor Who has more MIDIs than Star Wars on that very same site! ROFLMAO!

And it's not called DeliaDerbyshire.org anymore, Ross. But it still takes you to that disgusting site which is a terrible offense to the poor dearly departed Delia Derbyshire.

Does anyone remember Dick Mills, Brian Hodgeson, Peter Howell, Mark Ayres or anybody else in the Radiophonic workshop? To be honest I prefer Delia Darbyshires music because, no she didn't create a new style of music, she inspired a nation and more to realise the potential of a genere of music that is still (abiet in rapidly different form) popular today.

I don't like Mark Ayres. But don't tell him -- he thinks I do, as I e-mail him every now and then. Dick Mills gets partial credit, Brian Hodgson gets partial credit, and Peter Howell gets full credit. Thank you for reminding us of them though.
