Yeah that's what I think.

JJ Abrams did an excellent job with LOST and things, if he uses skill like that on Star Trek then I dont foresee any trouble.

Shatner angry at ST movie producers

I have just read from the well known LCARS website that William Shatner is angry at the producers of Star Trek XI as Lenord Nemoy has beem offered a cemeo role in the latest film. This comes after it has been shown that Shatner and Nemoy bothed signed deals giving them creative control about casting of actors in roles which have touched countless generations of Sci Fi Fans.

Rumors of actors to play Kirk and Spock have ranged and rumors are abound. Matt Danom has emerged as the most lilely candidate to play kirk and he has conformed that he is open to assuming that role. Adrien Brody Has been linked with Spock, and bears an uncanny resemblence to the Vulcan, while Gary Sinse has been linked with playing McCoy. Although rumors are still unconformed.

The film is set for a Christmas 2008 release currently.

So yes, whats the current opinion from the DS populace. I can slightly see bills unhappy reaction if it is true, as it would be nice to have some reminder of the original run, but i can't really deicde on what to believe at the moment. The choice of actors seems to be quite spot on, as Damon, Brody and Sinse all have some resemblence to the characters they are rumored to play, I can actually see them all fitting into the roles easily. I was rumored ben Affleck was in the running for Spock, but i can't see Star trek and Afflect really going together.

I'm not sure about any of this. It all seems a bit gimmicky at the moment, and the fact that they do nothing to confirm or deny any of these rumors doesn't help.

It's not odd-numbered though. It's just Star Trek.

Star Trek

The release date for Star Trek has been set for Christmas Day 2008. Also, it's been revealed that this guy has been cast as Spock, and also that Leonard Nimoy will appear in the film as an older Spock.

Whos been cast as Younger Spock?

Im glad Nemoy is in it? I wonder what time frame the older Spock will be set in. The last we saw of him was that he was staying on Romulus to teach the dissidents the way of Vulcan. So anything could happen to him.

Ah yes. Although he looks too Human to play Spock. Adrian Broody has the complexion and looks for a Vulcan. I can only hope the producers know what they are doing. I would be suprised if Gary Sinse does nto get the McCoy Role if hes in it, as hes got the right looks and acting talent to play him.

Also, I know this is the eleventh Star Trek film and all, but JJ Abrams gets quite annoyed when people call it Star Trek XI cause technically the movie is just called "Star Trek." Should we rename the topic?

And am I the only one who thinks that movie poster looks a tad amateurish?

No, I'm using the thread title to mean "The Eleventh Star Trek Movie" rather than the name of the film.

And about the poster, meh. Looks alright. Could be better though.

Apparently they are casitng for the roles of the other crew, so expect Scotty, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu too.
