I'm listening to it right now and I'm liking what I hear! Great job, I especially like it because it doesn't sound as different as I thought it would, it's still Fool's Gold. Kudos to Murray for his tips and you for doing this of course. It sounds awesome, but I'm torn between whether I like this more or the one before it.
It seems to increase in volume in some spots and decrease in others though... maybe I'm not hearing it right, that could just be the other instruments and everything.
(You can probably tell right off the bat that I know close to nothing about music.)
Great job!

You're right -- that's from something called "compression" which is a technique I've noticed Murray is extremely fond of.
Essentially it fills out the music so that the whole piece is essentially at the same volume throughout. The more you turn it up, the more powerful the whole piece feels. It's funny, because all I really did in the new version is increase the compression a lot, and then Murray said "Oh yeah, that's sounding a lot more Gold!" (which made me laugh by the way). I joked with a friend before making any changes that all I would have to do is compress it as much as he compressed the album version and then he would love it.
It seems I was at least partly right!

That's excellent Danny...really nice stuff.
Any chance of an opening and closing version?

Heh, the last time I sat down to recut opening and closing versions of Fool's Gold I did it with version 2.6 because I thought it would be my last version. Because of that, I put a lot of time and effort into making the opening and closing versions as good as possible -- it took me over two hours to redo them! Not looking forward to going through all that again, but I suppose it has to be done at some point.
Once I get the final okay from Murray (and hopefully Dominic Glynn as well), I'll begin work on recutting them again.

Is it possible to recut something?

Yes. To cut something and then cut it again.

Your username makes me think of things that would only get broadcast if they happened in Torchwood.

I just heard back from Dom, and I'm glad to say he's happy with it now too.

So this may indeed be the final version, if I can actually prompt a response from Murray.

Way to go! Hopefully you will. But along with them remember to take in mind the numerous positive responses you got here too.

And here I thought it was a horrible swear word.
I guess that's like the expression "The sh*t" down here, then. It can go both ways.

It's like saying "your track has balls."

Actually, yeah, "bollocks" and "balls" are both alternate terms for testicles.

I just pictured this:
Doctor(to a Cyberman): Your weapons are disabled. Give up.
Cyberman: ... DELETE! (kicks The Doctor in the nuts)
Doctor: AAAAGHHH!!! (hits the ground)
Piccolo: The balls are inert.
(Cue Fool's Gold closing version)
