Doctor Who 2x08 - "The Impossible Planet"

Plot Summary
The TARDIS brings the Doctor and Rose to an Earth research base on a planet which, against all the laws of physics, is orbiting a black hole. The crew are drilling into the surface, trying to unearth the power source counteracting the black hole's massive gravitational pull. But Toby Zed, the archaeologist trying to decipher ancient runes found on the planet, is being haunted by a malevolent voice. And the Ood, the servitor race staffing the base, seem to be falling under the sway of an evil from the dawn of time...

Danny's Review
An extremely enjoyable episode, terrifying at moments, hilarious at others, with an exhilarating build-up to a brilliant cliffhanger. 8/10.

I thought this was a brilliant episode, one of the greatest of the series so far. Absolutely fabulous.

A brilliant episode, funny and scary at the same time, and nice bit of mystery. And it made for an exictimg conclusion.

I think so, because CE's episodes had a different feeling about them. David Tennant is better I think.

Ce episodes were more consistant in thier quality though, a few episodes form this series have had mixed reactions, not the fault of David Tennant or the actors, i blame RTD for some poor quality episodes which left a small, but repairable dent on this year.

I very much share Chris's opinions this series -- pretty much everything he's said is bang on.

Thanks

I guess what keeps this series on just a high as the 1st one is that the good episodes have been made more dramatic, and we have had more Dramatic ones. But i will reflect on this in the review topic i'll make in 2 weeks.

I barely had time to read the whole thing. I look forward to reading it in full later on and composing a suitable response!
