Dalek Shorts

Hi!

I have decided to make a weekly comic strip for all of you! These comic strips will be called Dalek Shorts. So here is Dalek Shorts 1. DS 2 will arrive soon enough!
Comments most appreciated!

Don't forget to check out the Dalek Shorts Archive - for easy access to the episode you're looking for!

I almost collapsed on the floor with laughter! That is so well done! I'm honored to be in your comic strips, Dalek! I love it -- more please!

I am very, very impressed with those, not to mention honored! How did you create those and how long did they take?

Well, I use a program called Cinema 4D, which creates 3D animations and images. It's a little pricy, but well worth it when you learn a few things! I put the models (Dalek, computer etc.) all together to make the "raw" image. I then merged the three images together in Adobe Photoshop and added speech bubbles and text. Altogether the outcome takes about 10 - 20 minutes, depending on how long it takes to set up the scene in Cinema 4D.

Hope I helped, and DS 2 coming very soon!

That was very helpful, thank you! I will look into Cinema 4D -- my friend Pete uses it already and this was all the persuasion I needed.

Im tempted to get that, that is brilliant! Hillarious, i suggest we pin this topic, this could be the websites weekly comic! Every monday or such a new Dalek adventure, this is a gemstone.

A suggestion, do the Daleks each week talking about a different member or make give then Daleks names form each member, Dalek Danny, Dalek Chris, Dalek Ronn, Dalek Ross. and wack us in the cult of Skaro

That's a good idea, Chris! Hmm, I've been inspired!
Also, DS 2 is coming very soon (Honest, I just haven't had the chance recently!)

Hi!

Finally, here is Dalek Shorts 2! It's different to last time, and I'm not sure it's as funny. But anyway, here ya go! Enjoy!

By the way, I don't really don't want to double post again, sorry. You can remove one post from my post count if you wish, Danny, I just want to bump the thread instead of editing my last post so everyone knows this is up!

And one last thing...
I've taken Chris' advice and I'm going to make these comics weekly. It's too difficult to whip up one of these every couple of days or so. DS 3 will be up on Sunday and then every future DS comic will be posted on the Sunday of that week. And Danny, I would be honoured if you were to pin this and rely on me to give everyone's weekly giggle like Chris also suggested.

These are great! ... heh, I wonder what dalek-extermination.co.ska would look like?
The Dalek models look very accurate.

So far my favorite one is the first, but that may chance as you release more...

Keep up the great work!

Thats Brilliant! I laughed more then the first one! Dalek104, you have already turn the forums into a brighter place, and it's a shame i have to go on holiday and miss this, im going to try to get these files onto my PSP to take with me. Danny, i insist you pin this or give it it's own forum

Im honoured and happy you have taken some of my ideas to heart, im glad i was able to help you out

Oh yes, and if you increase the size of the first story, read what it says on the Computer in the 3rd block. Goggle Skaro, and the Dalek si searching for Void Spheres for sale.

Maybe these shorts need a better name, like 'Dalek Disasters', or 'It's a a Daleks life'

Thanks for the comments!

I suppose Dalek Shorts 1 and 2 could be pilots. They could be changed in some way if people would like that.

Dalek104, you have already turn the forums into a brighter place

Chris, I am happy to hear you say that!

I'm bad at names, so if everyone wants something different to 'Dalek Shorts', post it here! Then we can decide!

And one last thing, does everyone like short stories like the ones above, or would you prefer a story which is on-going?

Thanks again! I'm happy that people like these. I find it difficult to come up with jokes so when people find them funny I am proud!

It's because it's Daleks and real life, thats always good for a laugh

Maybe we could do ongoing stories, or have a few story arcs.

An idea, if you get a bit dry on jokes, Pm other members and get some input.
