Rock Music
Just noticed that we haven't had an active rock topic since November which is criminal.
So yeah, chat away about all things ROCK in here. My fave song at the minute is probably "Down Down" by Status Quo. How about anyone else?
Everyone on the forums needs to listen to this radio station henceforth: Virgin Radio Classic Rock!! Don't question me, just do it. Jimmy. Jimmy look at me. Do it.

this is the perfect chance for me to start on Nirvana again, but I wont, instead I will just hum the tunes in my head...or talk about the Foo Fighters or Soundgarden (who I've also been listening to).

Chris Cornell > Audioslave > Soundgarden
Listen to some Quo man. Or some other form of classic rock.
Jez will know this, but has the Genesis reunion happened yet?

I like a bit of Thin Lizzy, Rolling Stones aren't bad. Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Deep Purple.

All of which are fantastic bands, 'specially the last three and the first one. (I don't mind the Rolling Stones, but I don't think they're a "greatest band ever" like everybody else on this god damned planet. I'm also sick of Virgin Radio having an "exclusive Mick Jagger interview" every six months. That's my gripe about Virgin Radio, the rest is pretty much brilliant.
Genesis have reformed and are most likely rehearsing at the moment for their tour which starts in Brussels in June.
I've just found out that they are doing the London Live Earth concert (which, fortunately, is the same day as their first of the two ( ) UK dates. So that should be good.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.

I don't listen to much music but as far as rock is concerned I like "Hero" and "Caught in a Dream" by AIK. Both songs they did for Bionicle. Check for them on Youtube. (Note: I mean "Caught in a Dream" not "Caught up in a dream". Different songs.)

You're claiming "Disturbed", the "alternative metal" (lulz) band are better than Muse, The Rolling Stones, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Motorhead, Blue Oyster Cult, Genesis, Queen, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, T-Rex, Van Halen, The Who, Aerosmith, The Automatic, Bloc Party, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, U2, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Thunderclap Newman, Steely Dan, Soundgarden, Bob Dylan, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Snow Patrol, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Rod Stewart, Jimi Hendrix, The Jam, The Ramones, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Radiohead, Rainbow, Poison, The Pixies, The Police, OK Go, Oasis, Muddy Waters, Motion City Soundtrack, The Klaxons, Lynrd Skynrd, Bruce Springsteen, Minstry, Lou Reed, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Meat Loaf, Lostprophets, Lenny Kravitz, KISS, The Doors, The Kinks, Journey, Johnny Cash, Jet, Iron Maiden, Iggy Pop, Ian Drury, Guns N' Roses, Golden Earring, Foreigner, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, ELO, Dire Straits, Def Leppard, David Bowie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cream, Blink- 182, The Animals, Arthur Brown and America?!?!

I'll claim that Marilyn Manson, Rammstein and The Prodigy (from time to time) are better than all those you listed and challenge you to try and argue with me

Hey hold on one second! You forgot The (Small) Faces and Cream!!!!

I don't. The keyboard player's voice pisses me off too much.
And I didn't see Cream there, good stuff.
Aha, Pink Floyd!

Muses best song has got to be Stockholm Syndrome. Plus Daz is right about Disturbed. However Sevendust, Metallica and Trivium all are amazing also.
