Howell 2008 hybrid theme
Someone on YouTube requested that I make an updated version of my somewhat famous CIN Howell hybrid theme that incorporated ideas from the new 2008 theme that he could use in a video series he was doing, so I whipped this up for him in about 30 minutes. He specifically requested an opening style theme, which is why it's as short as it is.

I might do a longer version if I have the time and feel motivated. Otherwise, enjoy!

Great stuff Danny, listened to it a bunch of times now.. love how you mixed the different ideas.
The deeper sounds along with the.. well, not even sure on the right terms to define the other elements, but I really think it's unique and rather awesome.

It DOES sound great. Maybe this would be the opening to the CIN one's closing.
I wish I could say more than that but I just woke up and I can't come up with a better comment.

You know, I would love to hear this with a Davidson era scream at the start for some reason. This theme is really growing on me.

Do you mean you would love to hear it with a Davison-era scream? Because that's kind of what I did... I replaced Murray's Derbyshire scream with the scream on the Howell closing theme. Or do you mean the sting at the start of the Howell theme (opening and extended)?

Yes, I 'would'. Edited to reflect.. that's what I get for mass posting so quickly.
What I mean is the string at the start, yeah.
Forgive me if I'm calling the parts of the song by the wrong names, never been clear on the technical terms.
The classic Davidson 'start' scream, is what I wanted to hear at the start of this mix, blended with everything else. If that makes sense.
Anyways, it was just a random thought I had, due to listening to this so much!

I'll experiment with it, although on the new series they've been using closing screams to lead into the opening.
Here's my general explanation of terminology:
Scream refers specifically to the famous and irreplaceable Derbyshire scream. What we heard in the 1970's, and what we hear now at the start of Murray's themes.
Sting I use in a much more general sense to refer to any sweeping sound effect used to lead into a Doctor Who theme.
I probably should have more specific variations, but that's my general use.

Have a nice day,

It's great how people love the work I do when it's just a bastardization of other people's themes. I rarely get such rave reviews of my own original themes.

Bah, myself and others have told you time and time again how awesome all the mixes you've made are. STFU.
But I really do love it with the Howell intro sting, the entire mix is just really energetic / kickass.
