I found this rather scary article/video earlier.
This claimed that ISPs will start offering internet access like TV packages, offering only some websites. The more you visit the more you'd have to pay.
I was pretty shocked at first but then I realized that no sources were posted. I found a link to Telus, one of the service providers mentioned, showing their supposed plan for this, but as it turns out that's for internet access via their phones. They're not a regular ISP at all.
On top of that, this seems like a pretty retarded idea. We're already paying regular fees for our internet access anyway, I seriously doubt any ISP is stupid enough to go through with this. This would definitely crash the internet as a whole and they would definitely make less money in the long term.
So this seems pretty fishy. I'll be looking out for any more news on this. At first I thought it was real but now I'm thinking it's an attention-grabbing device.
