Spelling and grammar. We frown upon poor spelling and grammar here. Look up words you don't know, and always construct complete, coherent sentences with a capital letter at the start and a period at the end.
No text talk. Absolutely no text talk or instant messenger shorthand. We never want to see "you" abbreviated as "u" or "hate" abbreviated as "h8." If what you're saying is worth hearing, it's worth writing out.

I'm quite sure the only rule on this forum is that you can do whatever you like, just as long as it doesn't annoy anyone. That is, anyone who Danny actually likes and/or the DSF collective conciousness.

That is the first thing I consider when I make up a rather unusual word, 'WILL Minty like it?".
What's your opinion on 'buffoonaroid'?

Anyway, slightly off topic, but Sontaran related, I got the 'Bred for War' Boxset from HMV today, which has all of the Sontaran stories from the classic series. I watched 'The Time Warrior' this morning and thought it was alright, but not absolutely smashing. I'm going to presume Sontarans are more awesome when there are lots of them, and that 'The Two Doctors' will be good simply because Colin Baker AND Patrick Troughton are in it.

Out of experience I know I can't win when you enter the thread.
I'm still not giving in to ummmm ... whatever it is.
BTW Danny, what do you suggest about the crossfades. I can only use different transitions because if I get rid of them the video jumps and freezes and it will all be out of sync.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I just tried editing together random scenes from The Sontaran Stratagem in iMovie (both '06 and '08) and I had no problems with "freezing" or "jumping" or anything of that sort. It just worked, like it's supposed to.

I found out what it is. Its something else but complicated. It is my FIRST time of using it after all, not a surprise I got confused.
Made a Doomsday one in though with less fading at then end with the crucendo (no idea how you spell that).
But these aren't really trailer as they are very spoilery.

One would think not doing a crossfade would be a relatively simple matter.

Crescendo.
And there's still too much fading.

Well, if you want some constructive criticsim, I'll take a shot at it.
Work on the transitions, a few of them were rather jarring the way the frames went from one to another. The bubble transition.. thing, near the start was unneeded. Never use anything like that, in my opinion, just clean cuts.
The text you added was hard to read due to coloring / size.
Music was overpowering in some parts and the entire thing didn't have something "binding" it all together, music and background noise was going up and down, this way and that, all willy nilly.
Your also right in that it's not a trailer, more like an episode recap, considering it shows everything. Maybe try making those, over a trailer? Not saying you can't make a trailer, this is just nothing like one.
Overall, work more on making it bind together and have a sort of theme. The volume, background noise / music, colors, fonts used, etc... These all need to mesh together and not jump all over the place.
Hope that helps.

It is. Basically when I click in the middle of a clip and press play it jumps for the duration of the clip and then goes to normal. Its just something that happens if I'm editing. (told you it was a long story)

Well I think at the beginning and end of the Doomsday video it is effective (jumping through characters emotions) and I would like to keep it there. I'm starting to know what you mean though (in the middle) it becomes repetitive and takes out some excitement

I thought I would use the different transition so it isn't the same old transitions the whole way through. In the Doomsday one it was also meant to separate the Rose bits but I do think it looks out of place.

I view full screen on iMovie and its OK. But watching it on my iPod I found it hard to read and also the read font in the Sontaran one was hard to see. I needed to use a lighter color.

Don't like the fact Murray's music protrudes in the background sometimes. If I had Tom's program I could remove the incidental. Balancing the volume of clips will take a long time but I may look into it one day as it does annoy me.

Will call them recaps or summaries in future. Its just that the music I use is used in trailers a lot so I just automatically thought to call it a trailer.

Instead of making these changes to my current videos I would like to integrate them into new ones. I would like to make a 42 one or the Series 3 finale (inc. Utopia). Might get onto making a Series Summary with Requiem for a dream or Preliator (Lacrymosa remix) for the music (as they are longer). What do you mean by jumping about? Would like to sort that out. I know there is one jumpy bit in the Sontaran "trailer".
Thanks, for the tips guys.
