Official Big Finish Thread

It just occurred to me today, when listening to one of the latest Big Finish productions. "The Haunting of Thomas Brewster", I've never seen much discussion on them before here..

Does anyone else listen to them? Purchase the new ones?

I really love most of them, with Paul McGanns and Colin Bakers being some of my favorites. Both got the chance to develop their sadly short lived doctors much more in this format.

Makes me also wish I had the chance to be in more audio dramas / plays. Hmm.. we need a DSF production of that sort..

I love them and have a tremendous respect for them, but sadly I rarely listen to them. I downloaded a large collection of them, I think 1 through 82 or something like that, but I've only made my way through a few of them. I should really make the effort to get through more, because I know they're quite good. If I can get myself caught up I'll start buying the newer ones -- sadly I can't afford anywhere near the complete back catalog at the moment, nor any time in the foreseeable future.

I'm totally open to the idea, actually. Not sure how seriously you intended the suggestion, but I'd love to do some sound design and editing work, and possibly even some music scoring. If we could get a team together (which, frankly, I'm sure we could), then I'd love to be involved.

I was rather serious, auctually, haha. I've had the idea kicking around in my head awhile now, just wasn't sure how to bring it up. Considering all the skills and talent we have around here, making a team could be rather easy.

I'd happily toss my hat into the ring for voice acting and all that, would be a awesome project to work on.

Something like that story inside the Tardis idea mentioned earlier? Hmm..

Excellent. I'm sure we have the talent for all of it. We just need a script and some voice actors. I can handle the theme music and incidental music, as well as editing the whole thing together and doing effects and sounds and stuff. We should give this a try.

You know what would be totally kickass? Since it was Dom's idea, maybe we could get Dom to score it...

I have one. I saw a copy of DWM in a Waldenbooks out at a mall near my grandma's and I went nuts! I've never even thought they'd have DWM available in the USA, so, of course I went and bought it. It came with Cuddlesome by Nigel Fairs, ooh that was a good audio drama, if I do say so myself!

The part where we find out Miranda (always liked that name!) Evenden (Uhm, I think that's right...) has been turned into a MkIII Cuddlesome by the Tinghus is so... creepy!

Besides that, the Mr. Turvey fellow really caught my sympathy. I really agree with him when he says, "They tell you to grow up! And for what? Social status, houses, cars, peer pressure, self-loathing!" I mean, that is all it is... The only things that appeal to me are having my own family, a car, and a nice house.

Anybody else heard Cuddlesome?

Larren: The DWADs are audio dramas. DWAD stands for Doctor Who Audio Dramas, They are the longest running unofficial Dr. Who audio dramas, in fact. Going all the way back to 1982. Curiously, their pilot drama (which is not part of their canon) was titled Doomsday. What a coincidence, hmmm!

I need to make a thread with all the details on the DWADs...

Dear DSF Members,

Due to the fact all of you except Keff McCulloch, Danny Stewart, Recurring Villain, and a few others don't know how to be nice, I am leaving. The only reason I've stayed as long as I have is Danny's great mixes. As soon as I can, you will be reported to THE FBI.

Have a nice day,
James P. Quick

That would be cool. I really need to write down my stories and put them up on the internet.

I would do this if we planned it. Any ideas on the podcast or is it a dead dream?
